Situated
17 miles from the Spa and Conference town of Harrogate and 4 miles North of
the ancient Cathedral City of Ripon on the A6108 Masham road, North Stainley
is a delightful village of about 350 houses plus supporting businesses and community
organisations, including a Church, primary school, playing fields, garage, shop,
Post Office and Cricket Club. The village is also home to The
Staveley Arms public
house and restaurant.
The village, which is ideally situated as a starting point for visiting the Yorkshire Dales, is thriving as a result of a new housing development that is currently in progress centred around the Watermill Lane area in the centre of the village.
The village has recently seen the establishment of a Community Broadband via Satellite system.
The Lightwater Valley Theme Park, complete with a range of factory shops and discount outlets, is about half a mile South of the Village.
